2016-17 School Year

This Fall, we will welcome 9th and 10th grades to the Academy.

Admissions Interviews
for all grades
are now underway
until April 29.

PLEASE BE ADVISED that several grades are only a few spots shy of being full and that at least one grade is full already.  If you intend to apply for admission to VCA, please contact us as soon as possible.

Herodotus
The Greek historian, Herodotus, has become a favorite of the 5th and 6th grade students. They have been reading his Histories and enjoying learning about the Greco-Persian Wars.  Thank you, Miss Sorensen, for exposing them to these great works.
Welcome to Veritas Classical Academy! Our mission is to develop the academic potential and personal character of each student through an academically rich educational experience.

TRUTH                     BEAUTY                  GOODNESS

Science Highlights
From hands-on sodium studies in 3rd grade and dissecting frogs in 5th grade to experiments with sulfur in 7th grade, students at Veritas are exposed to the natural world from an early age.  When an otherwise squeamish child comes home excited about having used a microscope to study an insect, parents appreciate how science can ignite both an appetite for knowledge and a love for the pursuit of truth.

Thank you to all who participated, attended, and supported our Dickens Dinner.  It was a huge success with two sold-out nights!

Passion for Pickleball
During the month of January, our students learned about the game of pickleball from a dear supporter of our Academy, Mr. Karl Reuther.  Reuther shared with the students the techniques, rules, and strategies for this fun sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.  The sport has been around since the 1960s and is making a comeback thanks to local folks like Mr. Reuther.  It was invented in the State of Washington by Joel Pritchard, who would eventually make Marietta, Ohio his home.  Thank you, Mr. Reuther for sharing your passion for pickleball with our students!
Thank you again for your interest in our school.  Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule a tour.

Sincerely,
Ben Rutherford, Headmaster
