premieres a new film
|
As a courtesy to our friends at the Vermont Workers' Center, here is a notice about an exciting film project they have put together in the wake of Irene:
NEW FILM: STRENGTH OF THE STORM: This Saturday, attend the Central Vermont premier of "Strength of the Storm." The Vermont Workers' Center and Vermont Filmmaker Rob Koier announce the release of "Strength of the Storm," the very first movie made about Tropical Storm Irene's effect on Vermont's mobile home parks. Through interviews and heartbreaking footage of the storm's damage, "Strength of the Storm" tells the story of Irene's impact on the lives of ordinary Vermonters. The film weaves together stories of economic inequality, climate disruption, personal transformation, and collective action into an inspiring vision of a more just, equitable, and livable Vermont. Panel discussion after the film with the "stars" of the film from Mobile Home Park Residents For Fairness & Equality and the Put People First Campaign.
When: Saturday, January 28, 2012, 5:00pm until 8:00pm
Where: Barre's Old Labor Hall, 46 Granite Street , Barre, VT
