Gems Delivers
Listener Chris Centracchio
recently emailed me exclaiming "I'm amazed at what a blog can
do!" His blog has been bringing his family
together.
"Your encouragement to
blog genealogy has given me courage and a vehicle for which I can
share the stories of our family's common history...The family
response has been amazing. The cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles
think it is cool and want to see more!"
And put
your favorite blog in the spotlight by nominating it for the 2011
Family Tree 40 list.

GEM:
Eastern European Phone Books Online
Did you know that the European Reading Room at the Library of
Congress has European Phone books in their collection? A few of the
phone books have been digitized and are available online, while
many more are indexed.
According to their website: "The Library of
Congress began systematically collecting residential and
organizational telephone directories from many countries in 1937,
but the records for these items are generally not included in the
Library's online catalog. To fill that gap, the indexes (on
the web site) list the Library's holdings of European directories,
organized by country."
