If you are 55 years of age or older (proof of age may be required) you may be eligible for discounts at Walgreens on April 7th.
All regular - price merchandise receives a 20% discount. The following rules apply... Discounts not valid on prescriptions, cigarettes, dairy products, liquor, liquor department items, phone cards, newspapers, magazines, stamps, gift cards, items or services submitted to insurance for reimbursement or where otherwise limited by law. The offer is only valid with Balance Rewards card and is available to all AARP members with valid AARP card. Valid in Walgreens and Duane Reade stores on select "Seniors Days." 'Good To Go Promotes' Healthy Habits in Kids
|
ThedaCare Employees to Use Fun Events at Area Schools to Teach Students about Good Nutrition and Importance of Exercise
Area students will learn about good nutrition and physical activity through ThedaCare's new Good to Go initiative.
From April 27th - May 1st, ThedaCare employees will volunteer at six Northeast Wisconsin schools offering a variety of activities that promote healthy habits in students. Berlin schools will participate the following week, May 4th - May 8th.
"Obesity is a common health issue throughout all the areas served by ThedaCare and Good to Go tackles that issue head - on," said Jean BlaneyMcGinnis, coordinator of community health for ThedaCare.
By teaching students about healthy lifestyles at a young age, they're more likely to carry healthy habits into their teenage years and adulthood.

2015 Feather Fest Sponsorship Request

In 2011, New London became one of fifteen cities across Wisconsin to receive an inaugural Bird City, Wisconsin designation. Now in its 5th year, there are over 80 Bird City communities across Wisconsin. As part of our commitment to Bird City, a number of organizations from the community have joined together to create an exciting annual event, Feather Fest. The event celebrates urban bird life and raises awareness of migratory birds in our area.
Mosquito Hill Nature Center, the New London Parks and Recreation Department, and the New London Public Museum are already involved with Feather Fest and we're hoping to add your business to the list. This year's celebration, to be held on April 25th, is well into the planning stages. Our focus is to offer a variety of activities around New London to give everyone, no matter what their interest level, an opportunity to join the fun and learn a bit about our amazing feathered friends. We hope to attract not only members of our community but also families and tourists from around the area.

Hi Friends and Family~
I want to thank all of you who tried to help me with my Kickstarter campaign. It was a learning experience, I did raise $3,000 but I didn't receive any of the money because Kickstarter doesn't give you any of the funding unless your project is funded. This whole crowd funding thing is very new to me, and now that I learned I switched! To a different site called Go Fund Me! It actually does the same thing Kickstarter does, except that I receive the funding even if I don't hit my goal of $10,000.
I am asking for your support once again. Believe me, this isn't easy! I feel pretty vulnerable putting myself out there like this, but I have found it impossible to get funding through a bank unless I want to take out $15,000-$20,000 in loans and use something very valuable I own as an asset in return. :( Plus I'd rather not go into debt, aren't we all striving to be free? Debt doesn't make anyone free. Being a small business owner in this day and age is tough, and I have to keep fighting everyday to succeed. My Go Fund Me page has a simple video of me explaining it all so I won't get wordy here. You can watch the video. If you don't feel like watching the video, there is a description below it.
I hope you'll consider helping me out, there comes a time to ask for help and my time to do that is right now. People have told me that they don't have very much to give but honestly, even $1.00 from all my friends and fans would make a difference. I think I have like....7500+ fans on Facebook, and almost 2000 fans on Instagram. $1.00 from each of you would mean that my project would almost be completely funded and then I'd be on my way to share awesome things with you.

Please be sure to attend this exciting educational and networking opportunity for Chamber members. On the third Wednesday of each month from 8 - 9:15 a.m. join the Chamber in the St. Joseph Residence Chapel (please park on the road) for our monthly business briefing / networking session. St. Joseph Residence will provide coffee and snacks for each session. Come join us and learn what's happening with the Chamber and each other. Each of you will be given the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business and share something about your business that you want others to know. Use this opportunity to promote and educate yourself with the offerings of other Chamber members. In addition, we encourage you to invite either an existing Chamber Member, a prospective Chamber Member or a public service person to the meeting. We will have a great prize drawing and a lot of networking opportunities.

The New London Public Museum presents New London Reminisce on the road. Join us in the Activity Room at St. Joseph's Residence on Saturday, April 11th from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. as we reminisce about life in New London. The presentation is free, coffee will be provided.
