Employee Assistance for the Sandwich Generation 7:30 - 9 a.m.
|
Employees are the heart of a business, and their productivity affects the bottom line. Understanding what hinders work rate is paramount to a company's success. While keeping employees focused throughout the work day can be a challenge, the situation worsens when an employee struggles with personal issues. As business owners, it's important to understand the resources and be proactive in assisting employees with personal problems that impact their job performance, health, mental and emotional well-being.
Statistics show that the majority of our workforce also includes the "Sandwich Generation". The Sandwich Generation is best defined as the generation of people who care for their aging parents while supporting their own children. There are many emotions that go along with being a sandwich generation caregiver as stress, financial burden and burnout. As multi-generational caregivers experience high levels of stress, many report not having enough time in the day to accomplish their multitude of responsibilities creating a domino effect with work productivity.
Julie Hert from St. Joseph's Residence is best described as a community outreach specialist. She has multiple years of experience working with seniors and families and has helped so many transitions into nursing care. Julie will supply employers and employees the resources and valuable information for employees to bring back to the workplace through educational training.
- Education class will take place Tuesday, April 11th from 7:30-9 a.m.
- This class will be held in the lounge at St. Joseph's Residence - The Washington Center, 500 W. Washington St.- Use the main entrance doors.
- Free tours will be offered at the end of class

Donating 30% of Profits for the Month of May
|
Back in September of 2016, Joe Knaack passed away doing something he loved, riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. The U.S. Veteran was loved by many.
Since May is Motorcycle Awareness Month, Brianne Photography is donating 30% of all profits for the month of May in honor of Joe to the Old Glory Honor Flight. Old Glory Honor Flight is a program that gives Veterans a chance to see the memorials in Washington, D.C.
During the month of May, any sessions that are paid for or booked, will qualify for the donation. I look forward to doing what I love while knowing that my donation will go to a great organization. I'm excited to give back in honor of Joe.
If you would like to book a session with Brianne, contact her at (920) 257-6152.

The Warrior Princess Mud Run is a non-competitive 5K adventure run / walk and obstacle course designed for women and men of all fitness levels. This year the run will have 19 muddy obstacles and will be held at Mosquito Hill Nature Center in New London on August 19, 2017.
The Warrior Princess Mud Run is Harbor House's most successful event in raising funds for the programs and services Harbor House provides? In the past 5 years, WPMR has raised $488,000 - all of which has gone to fund the work being done at Harbor House to prevent and end domestic abuse, and to provide guidance and support to individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse.
So, maybe you are not so sure you want to take on obstacles and dash through mud, but you are sure that you want to help end domestic abuse by supporting WPMR. Well, there is a way to make that happen: VOLUNTEER! There are many opportunities to volunteer for WPMR by setting-up, cleaning-up, and helping on the day of the event. Volunteer dates are from August 15-18 for set up, 19th for the day of, and August 20-23 for clean up!
Volunteering is not only a great way to help end domestic abuse by supporting the efforts of Harbor House's WPMR, it is also a great team-building opportunity for your employees, students, or club members.
