Monthly Business Briefing / Networking Session

Please be sure to attend this exciting educational and networking opportunity for Chamber members. On the third  Wednesday of each month from 8 - 9:15 a.m. join the Chamber in the St. Joseph Residence Chapel for our monthly business briefing / networking session.  

 

St. Joseph Residence will provide coffee and snacks for each session. Come join us and learn what's happening with the Chamber and each other. Each of you will be given the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business and share something about your business that you want others to know. Use this opportunity to promote and educate yourself with the offerings of other Chamber members. In addition, we encourage you to invite either an existing Chamber Member, a prospective Chamber Member or a public service person to the meeting. We will have a great prize drawing and a lot of networking opportunities.

 

A monthly reminder e-mail will be sent out to everyone on our e-mail distribution lists on Monday the week of the sessions. Change Up Ribbon Cutting
 
On Saturday, May 11th Change Up (New London's very own retail clothing store) held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting with members of the New London Area Chamber of Commerce.  Many were able to view the gently used name brand clothing and accessories that the store is selling.  They carry a full time of men's, women's and teen items.  Change Up also pays cash for your gently used items. 
 
Change Up is owned and operated by Katie Thurk.  The Chamber encourages you to support our local businesses - we are very fortunate to have them.  Please check out Change Up.

New London Rotary Club
Annual Tree Planting Project 
 
Our annual tree planting project took place this year at the Bernegger Trail. We planted 21 trees total, 19 with a generous donation from Hillshire Brands and 2 memorial trees. We also had the help of the 7-11 Club to plant the trees. Jerry Oberstadt, Rotarian, owner of Oberstadt Landscapes coordinated the project.  Click here for pictures of ther tree planting on Facebook.

to protect sanitation workers
The Wisconsin legislature has passed a bill aimed at protecting sanitation workers. Senate Bill 145 will double fines for motorists who commit moving violations while passing sanitation vehicles, awarding collection workers the same level of protection as construction workers, police and firefighters.  See More...

Carrie Willes hired as Loan Officer at
Fox Communities Credit Union 
We are pleased to welcome Carrie Willes to our staff as a Loan Officer at our Northland Avenue Branch in Appleton.   Carrie will be assisting our members with their Mortgage and Consumer Lending needs.  Carrie brings several years of financial institution and lending experience to Fox and is a UWGB graduate. 
Vietnam Veterans to Nations Capital
This summer for the first time, Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight, in partnership with American Airlines and Oshkosh Corp., will bring a group of Vietnam veterans to our nations capital. This special, one-time commemorates the 40th anniversary of the end of hostilities and will give 100 veterans the opportunity to visit the powerful Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and other sites honoring their service and sacrifice. EAA will host the flight on Friday, August 2 during AirVenture as part of the Salute to Veterans activities thoughout the day.  See More...
