" Take Some Videos - YouTube"

On Tuesday, May 10th, the New London Chamber of Commerce is holding their monthly educational opportunity entitled, "Take Some Videos - YouTube", from 7:30 - 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Chapel (please park on road). 

Video tells a story in a way that a still image can't. This workshop will focus on getting your YouTube account set up for your business and the various section to optimize your YouTube channel and drive more traffic to your videos.
 

This class will be presented by Rose Fields with Social Web Dzine.  Rose is offering a FREE social media review for your businesses to prepare for the workshops.

Most Precious Blood School Spring Concert
Wednesday, May 11th
10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Most Precious Blood School will be presenting their Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 11 at both 10 am and again at 6 pm. The concert will be held in the school gym. Students from grades 3 year old Pre-school through 4th grade will be honoring our country with a patriotic program called "Americans We."   Mrs. Denise Klemp will be directing the program.

Student projects will be on display in the school hallway to view. Projects from Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Art will be set up. An ice cream social will be held after the 6 p.m. performance. The public is invited to attend this most enjoyable program.

Please be sure to attend this exciting educational and networking opportunity for Chamber members.  On the third Wednesday of each month from 8 - 9:15 a.m. join the Chamber in the St. Joseph Residence Chapel (please park on the road) for our monthly business briefing / networking session.  

 

St. Joseph Residence will provide coffee and snacks for each session. Come join us and learn what's happening with the Chamber and each other.  Each of you will be given the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business and share something about your business that you want others to know.  Use this opportunity to promote and educate yourself with the offerings of other Chamber members.  In addition, we encourage you to invite either an existing Chamber Member, a prospective Chamber Member or a public service person to the meeting. We will have a great prize drawing and a lot of networking opportunities.

2016 New London Chamber Golf Outing Information
Thursday, July 14th
Our 19th Annual Chamber Golf Outing will be held on Thursday, July 14th at Shamrock Heights golf*eat*drink*banquet*cater.  The day begins with registration and a cookout from 10 - 11 a.m.  Following registration and the cookout is the shotgun start at 11 a.m.  The outing fee includes; a cookout lunch, 18 holes of golf with cart, tee gifts and prizes, hole events, raffles and a sit down dinner at 5:00 p.m. 

The cost to participate is $75 per golfer ($57.50 per golfer who is a member of the course) or $300 per foursome ($230 per foursome if all are members of the course).  Don't delay; sign up today individually or with a team to join us for this popular Chamber event.    Click here for the Registration form.
 
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this event.  This is a great visibility and networking opportunity for area businesses.  We have multiple opportunities available including monetary sponsorships, providing tee prizes or door prizes.  In addition, gain visibility through the donation of a raffle prize.  Click here for sponsorship opportunities (first right of refusal will be given to previous year sponsors.  Let us know what sponsorship you are interested in and we will work with you).

Day Care Center of New London, Inc. is a state licensed child care center offering care to children 6 weeks-10 years of age.
The Day Care Center of New London, Inc. collaborates with the School District of New London to house 4k right at day care for your convenience. Your child will be able to attend 4k at day care and you will not have to worry about any bussing issues. The children just walk down the hall to 4k. Any child 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016 are eligible to register for 4k.
Staff at the Day Care Center of New London, Inc. consist of trained professionals in the field of early childhood and child development.
Some child activities include (but not limited to) unit discussion, large and small muscle, art, dramatic play, problem solving, food prep, stories, music, finger plays, singing, block building, outdoor activities, sand and water play, fieldtrips, meals and rest.

Head Start Enrollment is Underway in New London 
CAP Services' New London Head Start program is now accepting applications for the 2016 - 2017 school year.
 
Head Start is a quality early childhood and family development program for families with children ages 3 to 4. The program also serves children with disabilities ages 3 to 4. Head Start provides educational, health, nutritional, social and emotional services for each child and offers support and family development services to all family members.
 
The New London Head Start program collaborates with the New London School District to provide Head Start and 4 - year - old kindergarten services at one site.
 
The program offers both center - based and home - based program options for children ages 3 to 4. A home - based Early Head Start option for pregnant mothers and children ages 0 to 3 is also available.
 
Parents are encouraged to call for an appointment to apply as soon as possible as enrollment is limited. They should call the New London Head Start Center at (920) 982-7677, Monday through Friday.
 
Applications are currently being accepted for children from the New London and Manawa areas at the United Methodist Church, 709 West Pine St., New London. An appointment is necessary.
 
Families must meet federally established income guidelines and are asked to bring income verification to their appointment.  Families whose children have a documented disability are also encouraged to apply. Every effort is made to provide transportation but do to special circumstances; this may not always be possible. 

First State Bank Donates to Upcoming
Fehlberg Memorial Veterans Ride
First State once again made a donation of $250 and 20 cases of bottled water to the Fehlberg Memorial Veterans Ride. This year's event is on Saturday, June 11.
 
"This group works hard every year to put on a great ride that supports area veteran's relief organizations such as the Old Glory Honor Flight," said Brenda Hansen, the bank's vice president of marketing. "We also have employees who volunteer their time for this event; we like to support community efforts that our employees are passionate about."


First State Bank vice president of marketing, Brenda Hansen, presents a $250 check to Becky Schewe, president of the Fehlberg Memorial Veterans Ride. The bank is also donating 20 cases of bottled water for the participants in the June 11th event.

Medina - Dale - Readfield Lions Club
Project - Blanket Day
The Medina - Dale - Readfield Lions Lions Club made blankets for police, fire, emt and other emergency personnel to give to kids in emergency situations, such as fire, accident, things like that. They had about 40 people help, from age seven to seventy. Project Linus is a nation wide organization and MDR Lions is proud to be a part of it, especially since MDR Lions is from small communities like Medina, Dale, Readfield.

Shamrock Heights junior golf program is dedicated to teaching young players all aspects of the game of golf.  Each student will learn about the basics of the golf swing, basic golf rules, basic golf etiquette, and how to act responsibly on the course.  At the end of the program, each student will receive a certificate of completion. In addition, all junior golfers 12 and under can play the course for only $5.00 with a parent.
 
Player Options (pick one that best fits the players and parents needs)
Group 1: Suggested age 12 - 17     (The Eagles)         Cost: $65.00
Time: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. (High School Golf Team Readiness Program)
Description: For the older player or the more advanced younger player. This group will have more opportunities to play on the course and have on - course competitions, as well as individual lessons.
 
Group 2: Suggested age 9 - 12     (The Birdies)         Cost: $65.00
Time: 10 a.m. - 12 noon 
Description: For the player who is looking for more instruction on the game with less time actually on the course. This group goes through a lot of station work learning all aspects of  the game.
 
Group 3: Suggested age 6 - 9       (The Pars)             Cost: $50.00
Time: 12 noon - 1 p.m. 
Description: For the younger player who is new to the game.

ThedaCare today announced that Appleton Medical Center becomes ThedaCare Regional Medical Center- Appleton on Wed., April 6 The new name is part of an organization-wide rebranding effort announced two years ago so all locations throughout Wisconsin are identified with the same name.
