Greetings! With the early departure of winter along with the seasonably mild day-time temperatures, we now find ourselves with late spring hiking conditions. Only patchy snow exists with reasonably dry hiking trails. Of course, it is still way too early for the bug season thus making the Maine Hut Trail very enjoyable this time of the year. Due to the lack of run-off from melting snow and very little rain, the stream levels are ideal for early season trout fishing. the Dead River and its tributaries are now very fishable. Grand Falls Hut is now available to anglers for overnight stays with self-service. For details or to make a reservation, call toll free 877.634.8824 or click here.
