Liaison Spotlight: Juanita N. Jennings
Chaves County & City of Roswell
The New Mexico Film Office has a network of Film Liaisons to help film productions with local services throughout the state.

What productions have you worked with? Astro, Travel Channel, History Channel, Japanese Network

How can you help filmmakers that come to your area? I am their concierge one-stop shop for their needs and services to make their production. I have a great connection with the community to help make their stay in Roswell a great experience. I make it happen with the support of the Economic Development Corporation and other local community partners.

What do you consider to be a unique location in your jurisdiction? Bottomless Lakes State Park – the rock formations and open landscape is divine at sunrise or sunset and the backdrop is breathtaking. Most unique is our International Airport and runways. It was previously an Air force base and it still has that style and feel of being a military area, but with a modern twist.

Favorite TV shows and films:  I’m a TV junkie! I love Suits, Blue Bloods, The Brave, Seals, Designated Survivor, Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon I could keep going. Favorite all time movies Pretty Women, Top Gun, Notebook and Man on Fire

NMFO Filmcast: Mike Menchel
Is it possible to conduct a podcast by phone with your subject driving through the Mojave Desert? As it turns out, it is! Listen in to New Mexico shot “Only the Brave” producer Mike Menchel describe his journey through the industry. Mike started in the mail room (it's true) at Creative Artists Agency in 1975, working his way up the ladder to become an agent, then a manager and finally a film producer. His story about the development of the “Only the Brave” movie is both fascinating and startlingly heartfelt. You won’t want to miss this compelling interview and the great advice Mike provides to those interested in working in the industry.
