PRACTICE AREAS

Greetings,

We have been so excited to see some new volunteers in the last few weeks - firms who have not volunteered with us before and individual lawyers who are taking on their first pro bono case with us.

We take pride in our screening of cases, and our ability to provide technical support once a case is placed. We truly enjoy and appreciate the relationship we build with our volunteers. When we connect with someone new, we are inspired to find out what they are passionate about and to find a case or opportunity that fits their interests.

If you have not worked with us before, or have not worked with us for a while, please reach out! There are so many different ways our volunteers can get involved, and we appreciate the opportunity to have those conversations.

Sincerely,
Leigh Ferrin,
Directing Attorney,

Discharge Upgrade, PLC 16-1035674
Client is a U.S. military veteran in his 30s seeking assistance with a discharge upgrade application. The veteran enlisted prior to his 18th birthday. After four years of service, including deployment overseas, the veteran extended his enlistment contract for another two years. However, shortly after extending his contract, he had a lapse in judgment that resulted in separation with a General under Honorable Conditions discharge for "misconduct." The veteran is interested in a discharge upgrade so that he can receive GI Bill benefits and improve his employment prospects.
