Brilliant gold colour. First passings are almost indiscernible and the aromas remain very subdued several minutes later with suggestions of vanilla and delicately peated barley emerging. On the palate this whisky is almost identical to its younger sibling in terms of flavour profile. It does have an added spiciness that contributes depth on the back palate, an overall softer, rounder mouthfeel, and a greater uptake of vanilla. Toasty oak aftertaste.
