Resources on Campus: Center for Student Success
|
|
"Success is not a big step in the future, success is a small step taken right now."
~ Jonatan Martensson
The Center for Student Success strives to empower students in the strategic pursuit of their goals as they relate to personal transition, self-discovery, academic progress, and career planning. We do this through a variety of programs and services, including:
- First Year Initiatives - supports students throughout their transition to the University of Mount Union through the University’s Preview, Fall Orientation, and Exceptional Beginnings programs. Additionally, new students will have a Raider Guide who will mentor new students through the first year of college. For more information, contact Brian Hopkins, [email protected].
- Academic Support - to help students develop skills and behaviors for success in university-level coursework. Contact Tammi Kohl Kennedy at [email protected] for information about tutoring, Raiders Rise, Success Series workshops and other academic support-related opportunities.
- Search-for-a-Major Support - support is available if you aren’t sure which major is right for you. Selecting a major is a big decision that doesn’t have to be filled with anxiety. With many options to choose from and many interests to consider, we can help you to find the major that is a natural fit! Contact Marci Muckleroy at [email protected] to get started!
- Career Development can help you gain valuable experience through internships or semesters at the Washington Center or the Chicago Center. Contact Sara Fugett at [email protected] for help writing your resume, making connections, and building interview skills.

Alcohol, Drug, and Wellness Education
|
|
The Office of Alcohol, Drug and Wellness Education
(ADWE) serves to provide a 3-tiered approach to education, programming, and student growth and development: (1) individuals; (2) student body as a whole; and (3) university and the greater community.
Through holistic education, prevention, and counseling, the Office underscores the University’s mission to prepare students for meaningful work, fulfilling lives, and responsible citizenship. By focusing on making healthy choices including responsible drinking, sexual education, and drug prevention, the office works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to develop proactive programming, education, and counseling opportunities. The Office of Alcohol, Drug and Wellness can be reached at (330) 829-6660.

Counseling Services
provides an
opportunity for students to explore their concerns and problems with a professional counselor in a confidential setting.
University counselors provide counseling for life's problems often faced by college students, including emotional difficulties, stress management, roommate issues, loneliness and lack of confidence due to relationship issues, eating problems and transitional difficulties. Counseling services are free of charge to enrolled students who can meet one-on-one with a counselor to identify areas of resourcefulness. For more information, call
(330) 823-2886.

"Every time I stepped on campus I fell in love with Mount Union even more, and the overnight visit allowed me to get a good idea of what actually living on campus was like."

Now that you have decided to attend Mount Union, offices will be contacting you regularly using your Mount Union email address. Be sure to check your Mount Union email at least a few times a week; however, we recommend checking daily.
In addition to your inbox, you should also check the messages in your "Clutter" folder to be sure that there are no important messages in that folder, instead of your inbox.
