It's time for the next step in your transition to being a student at Mount Union - Preview! This program is your chance to learn much of what Mount Union has to offer both in and out of the classroom. You'll do everything from scheduling your classes for the fall semester and getting your Purple Plu$ card picture taken, to staying overnight in one of our first year residence halls. Meeting faculty, staff, our upper-class Preview guides, and many other first-year students are also important and FUN opportunities available as part of the program!
Preview is required for all first-year students, so be sure to visit the
Preview website
TODAY to learn more about the experience, and to make a reservation for your Preview session. After completing the reservation form, you should check your Mount Union email, where you'll receive a confirmation of your Preview reservation, typically the next business day.
If you have trouble with the reservation form or have questions about Preview, please contact the Office of First Year Initiatives at (330) 823-8685 or
[email protected]
.
We look forward to seeing you at Preview!

What is a First Year Seminar?
|
|
As a first-year student, you will take a First Year Seminar (FYS) during your first semester on campus as part of Mount Union's Integrative Core. The courses you choose from are both interesting and diverse. The FYS course options can be found on the
Preview website
, under the “Preview Registration” heading. When you complete your Preview registration, you will be asked to preference the five sections you would be most interested in taking. We recommend that you review the full list and choose before starting your Preview registration. This information will be used while you’re at Preview when registering for your fall classes.
The small class size in your FYS will allow you to interact closely with a professor who will help you cultivate a vision for your education. In addition, FYS will expose you to basic writing, communication, and critical thinking skills. Moreover, the faculty member who teaches this seminar will serve as your initial academic advisor during the fall semester and will help you explore the opportunities of a Mount Union education.

"The friends and professors I've had so far have been absolutely amazing, and most of them start to feel more like family; it's hard to feel along at Mount."

"As nursing majors, we are taught nursing is not only a science, but an art as well. Art does not come from drawing, painting, or making music, but rather from learning how to creatively communicate with those in need."

Now that you have decided to attend Mount Union, offices will be contacting you regularly using your Mount Union email address. Be sure to check your Mount Union email at least a few times a week; however, we recommend checking daily.
In addition to your inbox, you should also check the messages in your "Clutter" folder to be sure that there are no important messages in that folder, instead of your inbox.
