New Raider News Email Series
Welcome to the University of Mount Union. We are excited to have you as a new student on campus this August! At Mount, you'll find a community that offers nonstop activity and opportunities to get involved. And best of all, it's a place that feels like home.
Student Housing Information
It's time to begin planning for living on campus in residence life as a Purple Raider! Many of you have been asking how Mount Union will match you with a roommate and where you will be living.

  • REQUIRED Form Submission: Every new student needs to complete either a New Student Housing application or a New Student Commuter application on MyHousing
  • Housing application: If you’re planning to live on campus, that application includes a personal and interest preference questionnaire. You’ll also be able to indicate your hall preferences and provide emergency contact information.
  • Roommate Requests: If you know who you want to live with, you can also use this system to make a specific roommate request. To do this, you will go to the "Room Selection" across the top and then choose "Roommates/Suitemates" from the drop-down menu. These requests must be made and confirmed by your roommate by July 18 in order to be guaranteed.
  • Roommate Assignment: If you don’t know who you want to live with, the program will then use this information to find your best match among the other students who've already completed the form. All new students must complete one of these applications.
  • Housing Assignment Notification: Housing assignments, along with roommate name and contact information, will be emailed to your Mount Union email address during the first week of August.
  • Community: The University of Mount Union values all students and their identities and want to create a safe and inclusive home for everyone on campus. To support all our students, different housing options, including gender inclusive housing, are available for students to select when completing their housing application.

Meal Plan Information
New students living in a residence hall or campus house are required to have a   meal plan   - either the unlimited plan or 16 meal plan with $100 dining dollars. The cost is the same, but the choice is yours!

Unlimited Plan
Students who choose this plan will be able to eat an unlimited number of meals in the Kresge Dining Commons. Additionally, the unlimited plan provides students with 10 meal equivalencies that can be used at the B&B café throughout the semester.

16 Meal Plan
Students who choose this plan will be able to eat 16 meals a week in the Kresge Dining Commons. Dining dollars ($100) will be deposited on your Purple Plu$ and can be used to purchase food and beverages only at the B&B Cafe, The KHIC Start Café, or Kresge Dining Commons. Dining dollars will not carry over between semesters or at year-end. Students will not be reimbursed for any remaining dining dollars at the end of a semester.

If a meal plan is not selected for the fall semester for a student who is living in a residence hall or campus house, the student's meal plan will default to the unlimited plan.
