A Farewell to Norm Gluckman!
10 Years of Service at the AFPL

Norman Gluckman is retiring after 10 great years as the Director of the Avalon Free Public Library. Norm has spent most of his life in library systems throughout the country, receiving his Master's of Library Science from the University of Buffalo. He went to Vermont to become a school librarian and then relocated to New Jersey to become an employee of the Atlantic Country Library system. In 2000, Norm became the Director of the Millville Public Library and in 2006 he joined us at the Avalon Free Public Library where he has spent 10 years as the director of the 5-Star Library Journal rated AFPL.
Norm was born in Hampton Bay, New York and prior to his time in the books, he joined the Navy and eventually became an officer. He also enjoys playing the Alto Sax and has played in a Big Band in Vermont. With retirement around the corner, Norm will be able to spend more time practicing his music, enjoying the Phillies, and maybe even put his pilates license to use!

Join friends, family and the library on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5:30pm to congratulate Norm for everything he has done!

Congrats, Norm!
