Greetings!

Hello Artlets!

I hope you're having a great summer!

Thanks for reading this!  Some of you received the Confirmation email about remaining subscribed.  Sorry if you got one of those, but I needed check.  I typically have about 2000 subscribers who don't open their emails, so it was time to house clean! If you received one of these, thanks for being here!

I've had my nose to the grindstone and have new stamps for you.  But more about that soon.  Other changes have been going on behind the scenes, too.

A note about our holidays.....  We will not be shipping orders for approximately a week.  Right now that is scheduled for the last week of August. (Our early July closure was changed due to the passing of my mother-in-law). This summer, I am just going with the flow, which is in constant flux, so please stay with me for the duration. Everything should be back to normal - and even better than normal! in September.

We have a wonderful Guest Designer project to share with you. Holly Eastabrook obviously loves to try new things and it shows in the creations on her blog

Holly has made this adorable little Gift Twist Project to share with us.  You can read her instructions, see the supply list and see more photos by clicking the image below.

New Stamps

Oh, yes.  I've been quietly working away.  I really hope you enjoy this selection of rubber stamps.

This collection is a combination of friendship, encouragement and whimsy, with a big dose of family wishes thrown in.  We have singles, sets and the new Quietfire Companion sets.

Now before I forget, Glenda K suggested "We cannot tell the precise moment a friendship is formed". Please contact me Glenda and I will send you one of the stamps as a thank you!

We'd like to introduce you to our new

Quietfire Companion Stamp Sets.

No, we're not sending you a puppy in the mail!  These are sets where you can use the quote on the outside and the sentiment on the inside. Here is one.

Companion

The Design Team and I were "talking" one day about dark humour and Robyn Josephs fires back "My dark side is chocolate". I laughed all the way to the drafting table!  It made a great match for a "I know you want that cookie" which I've been wanting to do forever.  Cookies always talk to me.  That's why I *try* not to have any in the house.....

My Dark Side

We do not remember days was a request from Designer Sharon Reinhart.  She wanted to be able to use part of the quote on the outside of a card and part on the inside.  And really, I think that was how the Quietfire Companions came about.  Thanks to Sharon for sparking that fire so quietly! (So quietly, she didn't know she'd done it)

Also new is a set to coordinate with Spellbinders™ Labels One die set!  Our Happy Family Days stamp set has a calligraphic frame stamp which can be a home to four different stamps.  This is for all those people who have been wanting a "classic" Happy Birthday! {Non-calligraphers might not realize how difficult the word Happy is to deal with.  There are 3 decenders all in a row fighting for space and all wanting to be flourished!  It's a referee job to keep them "happy" and not obliterating the word below!  Instead of taking minutes to make with typefaces, these designs can take days to letter well and balance flourishes. And that's why these stamps have been procrastinated about for a very long time.... Thanks for your patience!}

Why did I choose Labels One to design with?  Because Spellbinders does so much with Labels One. If you really wanted to maximize your variations on a theme, check out Labels One. To compliment Labels 1, Labels 1 SMALL and GRAND Labels 1 you can now get

Decorative Labels 1

The new stamps are available for Pre-Order and will be shipping the week of August 15th.

If you order all the new stamps, your savings are greater than 50% off.

Painting in Alberta

Designer Sharon Reinhart is teaching two classes at the Paint In Alberta 2012 Creative Arts Convention in September.  In this TAKE TIME-MIXED MEDIA DECOR class, Sharon is using Quietfire Design rubber stamp Checkerboard Corner (Thanks Sharon!) as well as acrylic paint, stencils, bottle caps and more. Students will discuss different method of wire twisting and build layers to create texture and dimension for visual interest.
