New 18th District Strategic Support Center
Lincoln Yards Community Meeting
Access Chicago Fest
Dear Neighbors,
The 18th Police District is being equipped with a Strategic Decision Support Center (SDSC), a technology-driven "nerve center" that analyzes information collected by the Chicago Police Department, including past crime data and offender criminal history databases. It helps determine where to deploy officers and resources.

At our recent crime forum , Commander O'Shea (18th District) addressed how robberies and carjackings, as well as other crimes, can now be better tracked in the 18th District. These Centers have helped CPD reduce shootings and crime in other police districts throughout the City.

We'll keep you updated on the SDSC implementation and the impact on crime in our community.
Public Meeting Regarding Lincoln Yards Proposal
Hosted by Alderman Brian Hopkins (2nd)
Near North Montessori School Gymnasium
1434 W. Division Street
Wednesday, July 18th
6:00 p.m.

Alderman Hopkins (2nd) has scheduled a public meeting where Lincoln Yards developers will unveil their plans. This meeting is of great importance to our Ward as the overall project could generate a daytime population of 50,000 and triggers other potential issues important such as traffic congestion, scarce open space, and increased school population. Alderman Hopkins cautions that parking is limited at the school's lot on Bosworth, and at Holy Trinity Church across the street.

The Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times have editorialized about need to relieve our "traffic-choked" streets as well as the opportunity to create a substantial publicly-owned park in the North Branch Corridor. I encourage you to attend this open, community-wide meeting.
