Hollygrove Market & Farm
New Sunday Hours Starting in June

Starting Sunday, June 3rd, we will be open from 10am-2pm every Sunday. We've grown (a lot) in the last 9 months and our Saturday Market is almost bursting at the seams thanks to all the support of our great customers, so we felt its due  time to expand our hours and give you some more flexibility in making it out to the market. Our weekly produce box will be available, though it will be different than our Saturday box with much of our produce coming from Covey Rise Farms in Husser, LA. Covey Rise Farms is currently a huge supplier of local produce to many of New Orleans best restaurants. We want your thoughts on this, so send us a quick email to tell us what you think.

The Box Meal Plan: May 26th

Roasted Fairytale Eggplant

-Eggplant is finally here. And not any old eggplant..fairytale eggplant. These tiny little purple & white striped eggplant are perfect for roasting. These make a great side dish or as a healthy snack with some tahini sauce.

Peach Blueberry Cobbler

-Forget healthy dishes, this is what peaches & blueberries are made for. Toss on a scoop of high quality vanilla ice cream (better yet, go get a pint of gelato from La Divina Gelateria) and this is heaven.

Frozen Strawberries

-This is not a recipe, just remember to stock up on strawberries since the season is almost over. Freeze them individually on a sheet pan and than put them in a freezer safe bag for storage so you can have smoothies for the rest of the year.

Roasted Summer Squash

-Summer vegetables are all about roasting. Their high water & sugar content benefit greatly by roasting by driving off excess moisture & caramelizing the natural sugars. Slice thinly, season will salt & pepper and minced garlic, then toss in a baking dish. Put some pads of butter  on top of sqaush prior to putting in the oven at 450 degrees. Turn the squash occasionally, cooking until the edges start to brown. To finish, place under broiler until squash are deeply browned.

The End of One Time Home Deliveries

After more than a year and a quarter of doing one time home deliveries of our local produce box, Hollygrove Market & Farm has decided to discontinue this service. This was a hard decision to make for the market, but ultimately our small staff of three and limited transportation (a single van!) could not handle the demands required to carryout this service in a consistently high quality manner. All outstanding one-time deliveries will be delivered for this Tuesday, but no new orders can be placed starting today.

We will continue to offer our home delivery subscription services (1, 3, and 6 months) and will add another pickup site, the Rosa F. Keller Library and Community Center in Broadmoor, on Tuesdays starting in June. We would like to thank all the customers who have supported the delivery service during the past year plus and hope at some point in the future that we can resume the service.
