April 3, 2016
Dear Readers,

We have just sent off our Japan travellers who are accompanied by Mayor Colin Basran and new Kelowna Chamber President, Tom Dyas. We are looking forward to their updates and shared experiences including what their visit to Kelowna's Sister City, Kasugai, is like.

Speaking of Travel & Learn, we only have 6 seats left to the remarkable Haida Gwaii. Set to board a chartered jet this July, travellers on this journey will experience first-class fishing in undisturbed territory of what has been dubbed "The Edge of the World". Your special guest companion? None other than Mr. Tony Stewart, CEO of Quail's Gate Winery. He has promised to bring some vintage from his personal collection.

And since we're on the topic, we are excited to announce the latest destination in our Travel & Learn Series! Read on to find out!

Best Regards,

We're going to Iceland! (and you're invited)
Next Travel & Learn Trip Announced

Iceland - or "Island" in the local language - is a mountainous island nation in the north Atlantic Ocean, located between Europe and
North America. Ten percent of Iceland is covered by glaciers, yet it has a mild climate and countless geothermal hot-spots. Warmed year-round by the Gulf Stream, Iceland's benevolent climate is a constant surprise to its visitors. Stunningly beautiful, Iceland's daylight varies dramatically by season. Travel & Learn-ers will see 10 hours of sunlight each day, and 14 hours to chase the Northern Lights. The trip is planned for October, when it is mild and attractions are less populated with tourists. Game of Thrones fans will visit "Beyond the Wall" film sites at the Vatnajökull Glacier.

This far north, the midnight sun is never far away. You'll walk on the same rocky outcroppings as did Celts in the ninth century and Irish monks prior to that. Icelanders still speak the language of the Vikings, however English is universally spoken and understood. Steeped in history, a staggering cache of natural wonders are yours to explore. From  Gysers to Indigenous Horses, Iceland will astound.   Learn More
