New Series in Northern Kentucky!
Workshops for teachers of school-agers and infants/toddlers
For teachers of school-age children, it can be a challenge to provide a dynamic program when you only have a few hours and children of all ages, but it's not impossible! Knowing how school-age children learn, what they like and what they don't like will give you a leg up for a peaceful afternoon. Big kids can be a challenge, but with the right tools and a plan, children will leave saying, "I'm not ready to go home yet!" Register now for "Snacks, Laps, Raps and Naps: Your Guide to After-School Program Success," a new eight-session evening series beginning on Aug. 24 and ending Oct. 12. All sessions must be attended to receive credit.
If you're an infant/toddler teacher, chances are you know your important work is more than just diapering and feeding. Even though those everyday moments are great learning opportunities! The brains of babies are hard-wired to connect and learn, and teachers have infinite possibilities to make that happen. Register now for "The Rest of My Life Is Beginning Now," a new eight-session evening series beginning on Sept. 12 and ending Nov. 7. All sessions must be attended to receive credit. |

Are You Leading From Your Heart? Ninth Annual 4C Leadership Conference coming Oct. 15
"When I began directing I had no idea what I was doing, although I acted as if I did," writes Beth Engelhardt in her Child Care Exchange piece, "Becoming a Director: Lessons Learned." Beth will be presenting "Leading From Your Heart" at 4C's Ninth Annual Leadership Conference, and she's learned a great deal about leading in more than 30 years of experience in the field of early childhood! Beth served for 15 years as the administrator of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and she has also served as the administrator of an accredited child care center, a child care licensing specialist, a CDA advisor and a mentor to area directors and student teachers. Beth is presently teaching full time at the University of Dayton.
In Beth's session will explore how administrators can lead with heart as they carry out everyday tasks with staff and focus on the five qualities that a successful administrator should possess.
Registration for the Oct. 15 conference is now open at the OPDN.org! Don't miss Beth Engelhardt and others at the Ninth Annual Leadership Conference, "Leading the Way to Quality: Pass it On!" Visit the 4C Web site for more information.
