New Year, New Active Science App
Even Greater Impact!
Active Science Launches a New App Update
We are very pleased to announce that an updated version of the Active Science app with additional interactive features is now available.  This latest version will even decrease the time required for Bluetooth syncing. This was made possible by developing exciting new technology where syncing has become part of the gaming process carried out by the children. They will especially enjoy this new feature because they earn fun app games to play after successfully syncing their tablet. This update will work on your current technology and is provided at no cost.

Please contact Active Education Director Breanne Dowdie ( to review how the new app features work and schedule an online training update.

Teaming Up for Physical Activity
Active Science and Beyond Soccer Lawrence join forces to enhance physical activity among children in Lawrence, MA

In December, Active Science began an exciting partnership with Beyond Soccer Lawrence to work toward  common goals: increasing physical activity and STEM achievement among children. Beyond Soccer is a non-profit sports-based, youth development organization based in Lawrence, Massachusetts that uses soccer to engage children ages 4-18. Truly going "beyond soccer," children enrolled with Beyond Soccer are also connected to new experiences off the field that create opportunities for leadership, healthy living, and academic achievement.
At the Andover - North Andover YMCA, Beyond Soccer's travel team, the Bulldogs, are incorporating the Active Science program into their practice. Children wear physical activity monitors during their practice and, after practice, are able to log-on to the Active Science app to enter their physical activity data and complete a STEM lesson.

"By aligning with organizations with similar missions, like Active Science, I am confident we can do more to impact the health and well-being of young people in our communities and schools - we have already witnessed a greater level of enthusiasm for learning and physical activity among participants." - Stephanie McArdle, Executive Director Beyond Soccer
