New Year, New Life

December 29th, 2011

"Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:16-17, ESV)

As we approach the transition into a New Year, may we remember and rejoice in the gracious gift of new life we have been given in Christ.  This time of year is also an opportunity to thank you, the family of Old North, for your faithfulness to the Lord.  We as a staff are thankful for the gifts and cards we received through Christmas.  We loved the food we feasted on in the office and we especially appreciated the financial gifts given to us last week.

This time of year we also find ourselves talking about how you serve the Lord in so many ways and continually pray for each of us.  Since we ARE the church, it's a no-brainer to realize that each person contributes him or herself to make this such a special place.

Throughout Christmas we saw this in the 250 people who participated in the "Twelve Deeds."  If you were one of them, please drop me a note about how these events blessed you so we can determine if we want to do them again next year.  I've heard many of you mention some general things that happened, but send me a quick e-mail and let me know some specifics, please!

Remember that there is only one service again this week; it's at 10:00am.  We'll look back and look ahead as well as celebrate the Lord's Supper in a very special way.

I'll see you Sunday!
