A Sound Environment Update

The last couple months at the shop have been pretty exciting. The addition of the new high performance Audio Physic Virgo 25 tower speakers and the Orea center channel are proving to be a very successful combination in our big theater.  The Virgo are available in a variety of finishes .  We are showing them in the striking Macassar Ebony.   

Just yesterday we added the amazing Datasat audio video processor with Dirac room correction.  What an amazing component.  There is nothing else like it.  Datasat has 5000 of the professional version of this processor in operation in movie theaters around the world.

We have recently started to offer headphones from NAD and PSB. Both are available for audition. Click here for a report on Eric's experience with the PSB noise cancelling headphones. We also now carry Thorens turntables, which have a feature that will prove very attractive to many of you. They are fully automatic! The new Sonus Faber Olympica II floor standing speakers have also arrived. They boast impressive build quality, style and of course great sound.  Come in for a listen. We are pleased to announce the reintroduction of our entry-level stereo "full system bundle." Reintroducing the Full System Bundle

Over the holidays we introduced an entry level system "bundle" that makes sense and more importantly makes music. The base of the system is the do it all NAD D 3020 integrated amplifier. The NAD makes it easy to get into superior sound on a budget with its built in digital to analog converter and offers convenience with bluetooth streaming ability. The little NAD amp was so popular we ran out of stock for awhile. Minx Min speakers are little wonders and the REL T Zero subwoofer takes them to the next level for a cohesive and enjoyable listening experience. The bundle is $1,349 in this configuration but can be upgraded with different speakers.

Thorens Automatic Turntables

Thorens, a Swiss company, has been making high quality record players for more than half a century.  They are the only company left making a high quality, fully automatic turntable.

We have two models, the TD190-2 in Black at $749 and the TD240-2 in a beautiful light Walnut at $1099.  The TD240-2 offers upgraded performance.

Both turntables lower the stylus into the lead in groove, lift at the end of play and shut off all automatically.  Come in for a demonstration.

Both turntables come with a phono cartridge that can be upgraded.  Price includes professional setup and delivery.

If you have an old B&O turntable or other automatic turntable, chances are good that it cannot be repaired if there is a significant problem.  We will be happy to look at the problems and get a quote on repair but it is probably time for a new table.  We can also check out the stylus, clean it and readjust the setting for you.

New in Home Theater

Theater is an exciting area for us lately.  We are not only upgrading the audio in our big theater but will soon be adding two more theater audio systems along with a 65" Ultra HD TV.  Stay tuned as we carry out the implementation of these systems.  We will give you updates of our progress.  When we are done we will feature two new audio systems for home theater with packages priced at $2995 and $4995.  Our third theater room will get a makeover as well.  More on that in a later newsletter.
