Live the life you love, Love the life you live
Slow down, take pause and reflect on what is truly important to you!
We have a lot of new things on the horizon at Shri Yoga as we segway into the fall season.  Our program and teaching staff is expanding and we are excited to add more to our offerings to better support your wellness goals. The changes to our schedule do not take place all at once, so please look over the information below carefully. We know this a lot, so refer to the daily schedule when in doubt or contact us for further clarification.

  5. There will be a modified schedule for the Open House on 9/23.(see below)

Forging a New Path!

Our dear Roberta will be relocating to the west coast in the weeks ahead to join the yoga community in San Diego. I feel like a momma bird whose baby is about to leave the nest.  As sad as I feel to see her go, I couldn't be happier for her as I know this is where she is meant to be. Be sure to wish her well!

New program coming this fall!
Great Yoga Wall
classes start on 9/25

We are expanding our wall program to include the Yoga Wall. So what is a yoga wall and how might one benefit from it?

The yoga wall is a system of belts and slings that attach to fixtures on the wall. Adjusted at various lengths, the belts and slings are used for poses that are commonly practiced in class to help students achieve the optimal action of a pose more precisely.  The slings  add additional support for inversions that work with gravity to allow for deeper releases in the spine.

The yoga wall has great versatility which can benefit students of all levels because it  essentially acts like a silent partner to support the body while it lengthens, stretches and opens.  Experienced students often discover that the wall can help them access poses they can't usually do in class. Students with injuries such as neck and back problems may find remedial relief through the suspension provided from the use of the wall.  Athletes and students with tight muscles will benefit from the deep muscle and connective tissue release to help free up the pelvis and spine.

This is both a fun and challenging experience for advanced beginners and beyond. With the exception of the Yoga 4 Back Care class which is open to anyone who experiences back discomfort, it is required that students have a foundation for practice in order to optimize and maximize your experience.  It is not recommended for brand new beginners or students who have been out of practice for some time. Acquiring a sound foundation is essential before progressing to the wall. It is also recommended that students have experience with restorative poses.

Classes begin September 25th.  See schedule for days and times.

This class is limited to 10 students so sign up for each class will be required. This can be done directly on-line or by calling to reserve a spot.  If you sign up and cannot attend class, you must notify us no less than 1 hour before class time or your account will be charged for the class.

Fall Yoga Retreat with Pam and Rachel
"Falling into Grace"
October 20-22

It has been a few years since our last retreat so this is truly a gift for us and we are stoked!

Grace is a word used within the yoga tradition to point towards that which is unseen, yet experienced. We might experience this as a deep sense of peace or contentment or adversely as a deep-seated stirring or unrest, a sense of unfulfillment, or a pulling of the heart.  Throughout the weekend we will engage in storytelling and conversation to unpack and contemplate the teachings to inquire into the mysterious ways in which Grace (Shakti) reveals herself in our lives. Through practice and meditation we will bring greater insight and clarity into how we might embrace the circumstances of our life as an opportunity for personal growth and how to live in closer alignment with our heart.

Nestled in the Pocono Mountains, the Himalayan Institute offers a serene and peaceful environment to unplug from your daily distractions and to dive deep into practice and quiet reflection.  The program and structure of the weekend will be balanced to allow time for yoga study; active, therapeutic and restorative yoga; quiet reflection; story telling and deep conversation; and free time to hike or simply relax.  Our retreat location offers plenty of space within the retreat facility and outdoors for you to get what you need from this weekend.

This as an All-levels event!   if you have never experienced a retreat, don't miss out!  There are no obligations, participate in whatever is of interest to you.
Space is limited so be sure to register to reserve your spot.
$225 for the Shri Program

Accommodations are varied. Please visit Himalayan Institute to select and secure your accommodations at https://www.himalayaninstitute.org/retreat-center/guest-information/.  For more information please contact us or stop by the front desk to pick up a copy of the  weekend schedule.

A facebook has been set up for you to converse with others, to find a room mate, organize car pooling arrangements, or to simply ask questions.  Please visit our web site page at:  Shri Yoga Fall Retreat.

Working with Your Angels & Guide with Suesie
Saturday, October 7th from 12-3pm

Most spiritual traditions include mention of Guardian Angles and Spirit Guides.  Those who have forged a personal relationship with their Angel or Guide have experienced for themselves how beneficial these benevolent forces are in assisting and guiding us on our path.

So who are these Guardian Angels and Spirit Guides, and how might be come to know ours personally?   If you are curious to learn more and seek to acquire a working relationship with your guides, then this workshop is for you!

This workshop is led by Suesie Hartman, a 5th generation psychic, who will help you better understand how to acquire a relationship with your Angles and Guides, and how to communicate with them to hear the lessons and guidance they offer.
