Senior Manager, Operations - Office of Extended School Day Program (Expanded Learning Time)

The State District Superintendent invites all qualified individuals interested in the position of Senior Manager, Operations - Office of Expanded Learning Time (ELT) to apply.

DEFINITION:
The Senior Manager is primarily responsible to support the Special Assistant and provide relief for the effective operation of Expanded Learning Time programs. This person will report to the Special Assistant of the Office of Expanded Learning Time. This position may also be responsible for other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Manager will support the work of the Office of Expanded Learning Time in a number of ways including:  

  • Supports the vision for how (ELT) will help the district meet its goals for student achievement in core academic areas.
  • Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of ELT programs, objectives, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the training, communication, service delivery, and data collection of ELT programs within assigned ELT portfolio
  • Provides direction for staff to plan the integration, coordination and alignment of ELT programs with regular school day programs.
  • Provides support in State and Federal program compliance requirements and manage associated budgets for related programs
  • Meets with staff, parent and community programs and partners regarding assigned ELT programs and supports Program design based on informed feedback from stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing and leading strategic partnerships with community based organizations to improve and maintain resource options for the district's schools.
  • Manage relationships with community based organizations, ensuring quality services for NPS students which include managing (PQS) Pre-Qualification Solicitations for materials and services.
  • Manage the budget related to ELT including revenue and expenditures, reports to funding sources and meeting district accounting and budgetary requirements.
  • Analyzes and verifies financial reports and statements, accounts and revenue and expenditure records.
  • Provides support for program evaluation and preparation of reports and programmatic recommendations based on evaluative outcomes.
  • Supports cross department collaboration to meet the goals of ELT.
  • Maintains financial and/or personnel records, payroll, make purchases, monitor and approve invoice/vouchers.
  • Collects and analyzes data needed as a basis for programming decisions.
  • Collects statistical and other materials required for program evaluation, reports, memoranda and speeches.
  • Markets and promote ELT programs within district and community.
  • Responsible for periodically assessing all aspects of program quality using appropriate standards, develops program improvement plans with specific goals, and ensures program improvement goals are met.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Five (5) years of professional level experience operating youth programs in a large, urban school district OR other educational setting.
  • Superb computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point). Kronos, People Soft.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.

  • Experience in the planning, organization and administration of Expanded Learning Time programs

  • Trustworthiness and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of categorical funding sources and regulations
  • Knowledge of Public School operations and functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with school leaders, teachers, colleagues, students, families, communities, and/or advocacy groups and other partners.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of operational best practices.
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, pinpoint problems and root causes, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Superb computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • A passionate belief in the mission of NPS and commitment to increasing the effectiveness of its teacher workforce in order to increase student achievement.

SALARY, TERMS & AFFILIATION: 

  • Salary: Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
    The expected salary range for this position if from $85,000-$110,000.
  • Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months
  • Union Affiliation: Unaffiliated
