USB 3.0 High Flex 8 meter FireNEX-uLINK™ repeater cable

As one of the first generations of the FireNEX-uLINK™ series, FireNEX-uLINK-8M™ has been very popular since its introduction. To respond to the growing demand for High Flex robotic USB 3.0 cables, Newnex has just released a High Flex version of the FireNEX-uLINK-8M™ that is capable of sustaining millions of bending cycles. In fact, Newnex USB 3.0 High Flex cable was demonstrated live during the 2014 Machine Vision tradeshow in Germany and drew much attention from visitors. Newnex High Flex cable was attached to a bending machine that was continuously moving while the camera was capturing the live images. Together, the camera and the High Flex cable worked flawlessly throughout the show. The newly released High Flex version of the repeater cable offers the same features that FireNEX-uLINK-8M™ has including USB 2.0 backward compatibility, USB3 Vision compliant locking and is bus-powered. Newnex Type C Debut

USB Type C is the newest technology in the connectivity industry, and with its unique design and advantages, USB type C has gradually taken over the spotlight.

The size of the USB Type C connector is comparable to that of the Lighting connector on an iPhone which makes it ideal for application involving smaller devices such electrical mobile devices. Reversible plug orientation is another major feature that sets USB Type C connector apart due to its symmetrical design that allows users to plug in either way without worrying about it being upside down. Interchangeable cable end is another added feature if a cable is built with USB Type C connector at both ends. USB Type C will also support USB 3.1 with a top speed of 10 Gbps which is twenty times faster than USB 2.0. It also carries a much higher power output compared to previous USB standard. As a result, the versatility of USB Type C will clearly be beneficial to many applications.

Newnex has been participating in the development of USB type C connector from the very early stage, and is very happy to announce its release. Newnex currently offers two types of USB 3.1 Type C cables, USB 3.1 Type C to Type C and USB 3.1 Type C to A. In addition, for those with specific needs such as angled, locking, and custom length, we have a  USB 3.1 Type C custom cable design tool to help you build your own USB 3.1 Type C cables.

FireNEX-uLINK-16M™

Newnex is very excited to announce our next generation of FireNEX-uLINK™ repeater cable series, FireNEX-uLINK-16M™ that is capable of extending USB 3.0 signal up to 16 meters.

Different than any other repeater cables available on the market, FireNEX-uLINK-16M™ is fully bus-powered and USB 2.0 backward compatible. In addition, it features USB3 Vision Compliant locking which makes it ideal for Machine Vision applications. It has also been tested and proven to be compatible with most USB 3.0 Machine Vision cameras, even with more powerful cameras that draw relatively more power from the USB 3.0 bus power lines such as Point Grey Grasshopper and Lumenera Lt425.

A quick comparison between the FireNEX-uLINK-16M™ A to Micro B and other similar products on the market reveals its clear advantages: smaller cable OD, less weight, and transferring signal to a longer distance. In addition, the FireNEX-uLINK-16M™ is protocol transparent without Plug and Play issue, and is USB 2.0 backward compatible while being entirely bus-powered.

Newnex USB 3.0 A to B cable passed the USB-IF Compliant Logo Test

The ensure cable quality, the USB-IF adopted the USB 3.0 Cable and Connector Compliance Test Specification that cable manufacturers have to adhere to in order to receive the rights of usage for the USB logo. To be certified, a USB 3.0 cable must pass all the mechanical and electrical tests as required for the compliance logo. Consequently, Newnex USB 3.0 cables passed the tests and are fully compliant with the USB-IF Compliant Specification for Superspeed USB logo.
