Newnex will also showcase the shielded GigE machine vision plug kit that comes in handy when customizing your GigE cable and the new USB 3.0 optical repeater which is capable of transferring USB 3.0 signal up to 300 meters, making it the world's first USB 3.0 optical repeater that has this capability. A unique USB3 Vision compliant USB 3.0 Repeater Dongle (FireNEX-uLINK-D™) will also be displayed. The FireNEX-uLINK-D™ is capable of extending a combined length of 10 meters will also be displayed. In addition, we will demonstrate High Flex USB 3.0 cables, High Flex USB 2.0 cables, and High Flex 1394 FireWire cables on our product boards.

 

USB 3.0 ENA Testing

To ensure that Newnex's USB 3.0 cables are highly reliable, we have recently implemented a new cable testing system. For testing, we use an Agilent electrical network analyzer (ENA) with USB IF approved test fixtures to ensure that following parameters of our cables meet the latest USB-IF compliant standard: connector differential impedance, raw cable differential impedance, intra-pair skew of SS pair, differential near end crosstalk of SS pair, differential eye diagram at the receiver side, differential insertion loss, and differential mode conversation etc. Thus, our cable testing system will guarantee that our customers receive the highest quality USB 3.0 cables. The detail about this test will be illustrated by Newnex staff during the 2014 VISION show.

Preview of Newnex Booth at 2014 VISION Show in Germany, Nov 4-6, 2014 

 

Newnex will be exhibiting in 2014 VISION show in Stuttgart, Germany. During the show, Newnex will display exciting live demos that will showcase the superior reliability of our innovative new products. The demos include a High Flex bending system, a USB 3.0 industrial hub, and 16-meter FireNEX-uLINK™ active repeater cables. Along with the FireNEX-5000S™, Newnex's newest USB 3.0 optical repeater that can extend up to 300 meters, a new line of machine vision products including USB 2.0, USB 3.0, 1394 FireWire, and GigE will also be exhibited. USB 3.0 High Flex Cables Live Demo

 

During the exhibition, Newnex will use a rolling chain movement bending machine to demonstrate our USB3 Vision Compliant High Flex cables live. In this set up, Newnex High Flex cable (3 meter in length and capable of bending over millions of cycles) will be attached to a bending system that is in continuous movement. The USB 3.0 High Flex cable is moving at 2.5 meters per second and a bending radius of 78 mm. A Point Grey USB 3.0 camera, (model FL3-U3-32S2C-CS), that is moving with Newnex USB 3.0 High Flex cable, will be used to capture the live images. Newnex's engineer team has been working hard to develop this system because of our belief that a High Flex cable can only be great if it can be tested in a live setting with constant movement.

In addition to the live demo for High Flex cables, Newnex will also exhibit our new 16m USB 3.0 repeater cable, FireNEX-uLINK-16™ , and our new USB3 Vision Compliant industrial hub, FireNEX-uHUB™  in a setup that is capable of extending USB 3.0 signal to an impressive combine length of 32 meters, first time in the industry. 


 

In this setup, the two FireNEX-uLINK™ 16m repeater cables will be concatenated by the FireNEX-uHUB™ with a USB 3.0 camera to capture the live images that will be displayed on a laptop. Our FireNEX-uLINK™ 16m is the world's first USB 3.0 repeater cable which is capable of transferring USB 3.0 signal over 16 meters without the need of an external power. In fact, Newnex FireNEX-uLINK-16™ is USB 2.0 backward compatible and has been tested to be compatible with many USB 3.0 Machine Vision cameras available on the market. On the other hand, Newnex FireNEX-uHUB™ USB 3.0 hub comes with the most durable metal case that will sustain heavy usage in tough industrial environment. FireNEX-uHUB™ features USB3 Vision compliant locking ports (one input USB 3.0 B port and four output USB 3.0 A ports), a standard 5V DC power input, and an optional 10-40V DC power input for industrial use.
