Church of the Cross is beginning the process of hiring a new bookkeeper. Susan Kilgore has resigned. If you know of a qualified bookkeeper who may be interested, please have them email their resume to Rev Julie Peterson,   pastor@cotc-pcusa.org  
We started a new class on August 12 th .
Fritz Michaelis has volunteered to lead, via lecture,   The History of the Bible: The Making of the New Testament Canon  by Bart Erhman.  Fritz expects the class to last from seven to ten weeks. Class will begin about 9:00 am or shortly thereafter, and end 10 to 15 minutes before church.   
Date Changed: Book Club will now meet on  Wednesday, September 26th , at
7:30 p.m. to discuss  Sophia of Silicon Valley by Anna Yen.
We are collecting items for the Schaumburg Food Pantry.  
The pantry provides assistance to those in need within Schaumburg Township. Pantry shelves empty quickly assisting 600+ families each month. Items needed now are:
  • Soup and crackers
  • Peanut butter & jelly
  • Apple sauce
  • Pancake mix & syrup
  • Toilet paper
  • Canned fruit
  • Pasta Roni
  • Rice & Roni
  • Boxed/Canned potato
  • Canned carrots
  • Paper towels
