Give Thanks through Worship and Dinner
|
On Thanksgiving Day, November 24 there will be opportunity for worship at 11:00 a.m. This annual Thanksgiving worship service will be held in the Sanctuary, with Vicky Curtiss and Kent Organ preaching.
Following the service, a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, which offers opportunity to renew old acquaintances and make new friends in the spirit of giving thanks, will be served at 12:15 p.m. in Anderson Hall. Prepaid reservations are required for this traditional dinner and are available online here.
Parking for the Thanksgiving Day worship service and dinner is available at a discounted rate at the 900 parking garage. Please note, however, that the discounted rate will not be the Sunday morning rate but will be the $17 holiday rate set by the garage. The $17 vouchers can be purchased with cash or check at the church reception desk on Thanksgiving morning. There will then be no additional fee when validating your ticket at the garage upon exit.

Remembering Loved Ones with Christmas Flowers
|
In this season of gratitude, as we give thanks for those people who are important in our life, there is again special opportunity to memorialize or honor loved ones through the donation of Christmas flowers and garlands. Contributions, which will help decorate the Sanctuary and Gratz Center this holiday season, are being received now through Sunday, December 11.
Names of those remembered through Advent and Christmas flower donations will be printed in the Christmas worship bulletin. Contributions can be made by completing the Christmas flowers form available in the literature racks or online at www.bit.ly/FPCgifts
Forms must be received by December 11 for names to appear in the Christmas worship bulletin.

To brighten Christmas for guests of the Chicago Lights Elam Davies Social Service Center and Fourth Church Meals Ministry's Sunday Night Supper, Meals Ministry is collecting toiletries and other small items for gift bags.
Instructions and a list of needed items are available at the Meals Ministry cart at Coffee Hour following morning worship services on Sundays. Donations, which will be collected through Sunday, December 11, can also be dropped off at the Meals Ministry cart.
They will then be sorted and put into special holiday bags, which will be distributed to the guests of the Social Service Center and Meals Ministry programs throughout the Christmas season.

26 Percent of Pledges Are Outstanding |
Making Ministry and Mission Happen
|
As we look to a busy final six weeks of the year in the mission and ministry of this congregation--serving people in need, gathering in Advent and Christmas worship, and so much more--we are very much aware that 26 percent
of the gifts pledged for 2016 remain outstanding as of the first week of November.
To ensure the budgets of Fourth Church and Chicago Lights can be met, we are counting on those pledges being fully fulfilled by year end. At the same time we also understand that sometimes circumstances make that difficult. If you will be unable to fulfill your 2016 pledge, please let Andrea Miller know ([email protected]; 312.640.2576) so we can plan accordingly. Thank you!
