George Gittoes
    Gittoes is described simultaneously as a figurative painter, a modernist, a postmodernist, a social realist, a pop artist and an expressionist.  His work was featured this year in DOCUMENTA 13 with Love City, and in the spring of 2013 James Harithas publishes a new essay and catalog about Gittoes and his far reaching interests. 
     The artist has been profiled by news sevices world wide including ABC television in March of 2011, an Interview with Levi Strauss for The Brooklyn Rail, and CNN interview with Becky Anderson as well as cover art for New York's Vanity Fair.
