Dear Parents and Guardians,

On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, "Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink.
' Whoever believes in me, as scripture says:
'Rivers of living water will flow from within him.'"
John 7:37-38

On Friday, June 9th our school community will conclude the 2016-2017 school year in grateful praise and worship at a concluding Liturgy that will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. What a wonderful year this has been! As we look back over the past ten months, we swell in joy for the many blessings that our Lord has bestowed upon our students, our staff and our families. Thank you to all for your support! We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer.

Please remember that the LAST DAY of AfterCare will be THURSDAY, JUNE 8TH! There is NO AfterCare on Friday, June 9th.

Our teachers will be forwarding to parents the expectations for summer work. The information will be provided to the students prior to the last day of school. In addition to the summer work that is being sent to each family, our teachers will assemble math practice packets that will be available in the school office throughout the summer. Parents may come in to pick up a packet. Math work is a requirement for ALL students. Worksheets are also available on the school's website. Students who complete the work will receive credit for doing so.

An extra thanks to Mrs. Kim Frey and Just Hooked Restaurant for their donation of food for STREAM Night.

M.B.S. Volunteers were guests at a luncheon in their honor held on Wednesday, May 31st. We thank our volunteers for all of their service to our students and our school community. Than you, also, to La Donne Cucina, (Damiana Clubb) for providing the wonderful meal.

If you are taking your child to their primary care providers for physicals, please remember any student entering in kindergarten or the 4th grade next year needs a physical from the doctor's office.  The physical may have been conducted as early as October 2016 of last year to count for your physical for the 2017-2018 school year.  If you send in the completed physical form, it will be filed for next year.
If your child has any new immunizations, please send verification to the nurse as soon as possible.   There are New Immunization Requirements for students entering 7th grade. They need Tdap (single dose) and Meningococcal (single dose).  The immunizations required for students entering kindergarten are DtaP (4doses), Polio (3 doses), MMR (2 doses), Varicella (2 doses) and Hep B (3 doses).  These immunization requirements are from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The end of the year is HERE. Parents must pick up any unused medication at the end of the school year.  Medication that is not collected by the parent will be discarded. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse @ 410/208-1600.
Beginning on June 14th, the school office will observe summer hours. In doing so, our school office will be open each day from 8:30 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The school office will be closed on Fridays.

New Family Mentoring Program for 2017-2018 School Year
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to give their time and talent to assist us in our New Family Mentoring Program. The purpose of this program is to be able to give our new families a contact to go to if they have questions or are unsure of something. This would give our new families a comfort of knowing that we are a school community and are here to welcome them with open arms. Thank you for your willingness to help and be there for these new families to make the new school year as easy and comfortable a transition as it can be for them.
For your time and talent, we will give 10 FIP hours towards the 2017-2018 school year, which will be applied at the beginning of the 3rd trimester. For more questions about the Mentoring Program or if you would like to sign up to be a Mentor, please contact Lisa Edmunds at ledmunds@mbscs.org, or call the school office and ask for Mrs. Edmunds.

We discussed reminders of having a safe Summer, treating each other with kindness and being thankful to our loving parents.
