22nd Melbourne Fall Art Festival - Melbourne, FL (Deadline: October 8)  
The Melbourne Fall Festival is currently the largest free admittance art festival and concert series in all of the Central Florida area, featuring nationally recognized bands and over 200 artists. 14th Annual Tactile Art Show 
Touchable Art that Touches the Heart
October 2 - November 1, 2015
ARTISTS ARE INVITED to participate in the 14th Annual Tactile Art Show, an installation of all touchable art.  Entries may include sculptures, wall hangings, ceramics, fiber art, reliefs, woodworks, glass, kinetic art, textured canvas, assemblages, interactive art and other mediums.

4 Bridges Arts Festival 2016 - Chattanooga, TN (Deadline: October 31)
  4 Bridges Arts Festival will return for its 16th year to bring world-class fine art to the region. 4 Bridges Arts Festival is a fully juried show with artist awards totalling $15,000. Diversity in mediums and styles in a 50,000 sq. ft. covered pavilion mixed with serious art buyers from across the region, and beyond, creates an atmosphere unlike any other. Show dates are April 15-17, 2016, and location is First Tennessee Pavilion (1826 Reggie White Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37408). For more info, visit here.  


2015 Florida Book Awards Competition (Deadline: January 14)
The Florida Book Awards has kicked off its tenth annual competition with a call for entries in nine categories. Books can be entered into the competition by anyone (e.g. publisher, author or literary agent) via the online submission form. To be eligible, entries must have both a copyright date between Jan. 1, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2015, and an International Standard Book Number (ISBN). For more info, visit here.

Funding Opportunities
 
Artslink Independent Projects (Deadline: December 3)
Independent Projects awards provide funding to artists and arts managers who propose to undertake projects in the United States in collaboration with a US non-profit arts organization or individual artist. Applicants must have a letter of invitation from a US partner in order to apply for an Independent Projects award. Maximum award is $5,000. For more info, visit here.  

 
Knight Cities Challenge Offering Innovators $5 million (Deadline: October 27) 
Knight Foundation will be presenting the Knight Cities Challenge starting Oct. 1. The challenge seeks ideas that make the 26 communities where Knight invests more vibrant places to live and work. Applicants can win a share of $5 million for sharing ideas on how to make cities more successful. For more info, visit here  .  
 
Apply Now for MAP Fund Grant (Deadline: September 28)  
Since 1989, the MAP Fund has disbursed over 20 million dollars to 880 projects in playwriting, choreography, music composition, and ensemble, site-specific, and community-based performance. For more info, visit here 

Aaron Copland Fund for Music Invites Applications for Contemporary American Music Recording Projects (Deadline: January 15)
  The Aaron Copland Fund's Recording Program is designed to support projects that document and provide wider exposure for the music of contemporary American composers and/or develop audiences for contemporary American music through the distribution of recorded performances in physical and online media. The fund is interested primarily in supporting recordings of works by living American composers and those who are recently deceased and favors works that were composed more recently. Manager of In-House Programs Position at The Center for Creative Education - West Palm Beach, FL
  Under supervision of the Director of Programming, the Manager of In-House Programs will oversee and coordinate all In-House programs at the Center for Creative Education. The Manager will fully implement existing programs (specifically the "Discover Series" and "LOT 23 - Community Artist Program") and will be responsible for developing, promoting, registering, implementing, managing, and evaluating new classes and programs at CCE. The Gullah Geeche Group is seeking volunteers to assist/support the first 3 Florida city Mende Film and Culture Festival. The festival highlights the rich contributions of those unique West Africans known as Gullah Geechee who settled along the Sea Island Coast. The event in St. Augustine is scheduled for Thursday, October 29 from 10am-9pm at Corozan Cinema. The Saint Augustine Film Festival will be returning for the 6th year in January 2016. Volunteers are needed to help plan for this exciting event located around Downtown Saint Augustine. The St. Augustine Historical Society Research Library is looking for volunteers with computer experience to help archive their photo collection. Volunteers scan and document the images so they can be added to the online catalog. Other computer related projects are available as well. The Research Library is located in the Segui Kirby-Smith House (the old public library) on Aviles Street.  Parking for library volunteers is at the Oldest House on Charlotte and St. Francis Street.
