Fairgrounds and Sugar Tree Bring the
Joy of Cookies to TIVO Santa Run

We had a wonderful time at the TIVO Santa Run on December 18th!  The Fairgrounds partnered with Sugar Tree to participate as the Cookie Sponsor for the traditional cookies and milk served at the race finish line.  In addition to our cookie booth at the finish line we also had a booth in the heart of Christmas in the Park, where we enjoyed talking with lots of people about the Fairgrounds and the 2017 Fair!

January Staff Highlight
Armando Carlos

You might say that Armando Carlos, Manager of the Fairgrounds Off Track Betting and Bingo, has the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in his blood.  A San Jose native, he has many fond memories of time spent here at the Fairgrounds when his father worked here in our Facilities Dept. in the 1990s.  A true people person, Armando's favorite part about this very busy job is his opportunity to interact with customers.  When he's not working hard here at the Fairgrounds he enjoys golf and being a great soccer dad to his two daughters, ages 10 and 8.
Volunteering is a family a-FAIR for (left to right) Judith Mabie, Bette Krueger, and Melissa Diane!
January Volunteer Highlight
Judith Mabie, Melissa Diane
and Bette Krueger

Every summer, when Fair time rolls around, visitors walk through our blue arch and are greeted by the welcoming and happy faces of Judith Mabie, Melissa Diane and Bette Krueger. This three generation trio has coordinated the Information Booth at the Santa Clara County Fair for the past 22 years, providing vital information and directing patrons and their families around the Fair. Judith also heads the volunteer committee, recruiting and training dozens of volunteers for the four-day event. Additionally, in the months leading up to fair, Judith and Melissa hand craft decorations which are displayed around the VIP patio and hospitality room. Thank you, Judith, Melissa and Bette, for all your support and hard work to support the Santa Clara County Fair!
The Dinosaurs are Coming!
