March 11, 2011

Dear ,

I hope you've all received the invite to our next event, Creative Hub Live: Grand Opening, on Wednesday April 13th at Moct in the Third Ward. The original date was scheduled for April 14th, but because many of you may be attending the Business Marketing Association's Bell Awards that night, we wanted to make sure you could attend both.

At our event, we will be revealing:

  • New organization and mission
  • New website for creatives to find opportunities and for businesses to find local talent
  • New membership program, offering free event admission, website promotion and other great services

We are also working on a special event opportunity May 11 & 12 with our media partners, BizTimes Media, at the BizTech Expo. This is an incredible opportunity for the creative industries to connect to other industries! More than 3,500 business leaders attend the two-day event. More details are below.

Finally, to keep you informed, we are interviewing both County Executive Candidates on their perspective and commitment to growing our creative industries. We will post the audio/video from those interviews next weekend.

Creative Hub Live: Grand Opening is Coming One Day Sooner!
The event will now take place on April 13th--same time and same location as originally published. The Business Marketing Association's Bell Awards take place on April 14. We hope you can attend both events rather than having to choose!

Coming Soon: Opportunity to Display at BizTech Expo
BizTech Expo

The Cultural Alliance of Greater Milwaukee and their media partners, Biz Times Media, are exploring a shared space for the creative industries (design firms, performers, artists, radio stations -- and more!) to display at the BizTech Expo May 11 & 12.
Why is this a good opportunity for you?
Over 3,500 pre-qualified owners, executives and business professionals representing all industries attend. That means:
  • 86% are decision makers
  • 65% are CEOs
  • 70% of the companies have $1,000,000+ in annual revenue
  • 56% are looking for more business relationships

We're creating a co-op booth space for 5-20 businesses and individuals in the creative industries who are interesting in building connections to other businesses to grow their own.

We will be releasing more details in the coming weeks. If you are interested in learning more about participating, please contact Shirah Apple at and include "Expo Participation" in the subject line.

The April 5 Stone-Abele runoff is shaping up to be a highly competitive fight. We wanted to hear their take on the creative industries, so we're heading to their offices next week for an interview. We will post their responses on our website,  on Saturday, March 19th.
