Show Your Love for Milwaukee and Spread the World About the Dear MKE Film Series!

The Dear MKE film series includes a short film about Milwaukee and 12 documentaries about the people, places and things that make Milwaukee special. This innovative project is a first-ever community collaboration to tell Milwaukee's story like it has never been told before. It's a project for Milwaukeeans, by Milwaukeeans, about Milwaukeeans.

The project is driven by community submissions and we need your help! Tell us what it is about Milwaukee that moves you - it could be a place you go that makes you feel special, a friend or neighbor who has done something great, a Milwaukee business or product - it could be anyone, anything.

Submit your love letter to Milwaukee in a written story, photo or video to help us show the world what makes Milwaukee a great place to learn, work, play and live. Your idea could be chosen as a documentary film topic, helping spread the word about what Milwaukee has to offer from a truly authentic point of view.

The project's creative director - a Milwaukee native who is now a Hollywood film maker, Jack Turner, explains it best.

Submissions may be entered until Oct. 12, 2012 for a chance to influence the content of the Dear MKE film series and win Milwaukee prize packages valued at up to $1,000.

For more details on the contest, how to enter and to view submissions, visit www.DearMKE.com.

The tragic fire at 631 E. Center St. was a catalyst for diverse segments of the Milwaukee Arts community to come together in support of the Center St. Artists. CAMPAC Applications Due 9/17, Contact Your County Supervisor to Support Milwaukee Arts Funding

Don't forget! Applications are due on Monday, September 17, 2012 for the 2013 Milwaukee County Cultural Artistic & Musical Advisory Council (CAMPAC). The form is currently available on the Milwaukee County web page. Click here for more details, the application, and application guidelines.

As you may know, maintaining CAMPAC's funding in the County Budget has been a challenge in recent years. We strongly encourage you to contact your County Supervisors and the County Executive (via telephone, email and/or written correspondence) and make the case for continuing the CAMPAC funding at its current level. Please reach out to your supervisor and share with them the impact of CAMPAC funding on your organization. Click here for County Supervisor contact information.

Our advice to nonprofit arts groups is to contact the County Supervisor who is most closely linked to their mission and program delivery and make a very individual, data-driven case for support.
The more personal, the better. For its part, Creative Alliance will work diligently to develop programs and resources that will help non-profits and creatives develop earned income revenue so that there is less dependence on contributed income.

If you have any additional questions about CAMPAC funding or the application cycle, email Rick Clark, CAMPAC Administrator.
