|Connect with Your State Legislators Today!|
On Monday, January 3, all 99 members of the Wisconsin State Assembly and 33 members of the State Senate were sworn in, including many members who are new to the governing process. It is important to connect with them now, to build relationships and to show that the arts, arts education and creative economy are important to you, your community, and everyone.
All of these new and returning state leaders are primarily focused on reducing the state's deficit and creating incentives to grow the economy. Many of these representatives, in particular the new legislators, are also focused on cutting what they consider to be "discretionary" spending.
It is imperative that arts advocates work quickly together to connect with and educate these leaders about the profound role the arts play in spurring economic growth and job creation.
Arts Wisconsin's Legislative Action Center database has been updated with contact information for all new members of the administration. They also have helpful tools, including customizable letters you can send to your state representative. Take action!
