1a.  PERFORMANCE - Rio NYN (Not Yet Named)
 
Rio Linda High School's jazz ensemble performed to showcase a sample of student holiday performances taking place districtwide.

1b.  RECOGNITION - High School Fall Sports
 
Twin Rivers 2016-2017 high school fall athletes were recognized for their performances, outstanding accomplishments, and for proudly representing TRUSD through their leadership, character and sportsmanship.

1c.  RECOGNITION - Community Partners / Area Food Donations
 
The Board of Trustees recognized community partners, including:  New Testament Baptist Church, Rio Linda Elverta Food Closet, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, Stanford Settlement, St. Claire's Church, St. Vincent de Paul-St. Lawrence Conference, and The Way Ministries for making a difference in our community through the collection and distribution of food. Many Twin Rivers schools host canned food drives and refer families to our community partners for food assistance. These donations are collected and distributed by area food banks and greatly benefit families in our community.
 
2.  ACTION ITEM - APPROVE Adoption of TK-6 ELA Materials
 
The Board of Trustees adopted Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's Journeys ELA (English Language Arts) program as the core materials for TK-6 general education students as well as mild/moderate special education students beginning in the 2017-2018 school year.

3.  PRESENT - Update on Facilities
 
The Board was provided an update on facilities projects for 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 based on the capital projects/major maintenance prioritization information presented to the Board on October 18, 2016 and results of the Governance Team feedback during the Board Workshop on October 25, 2016.

4.  PRESENT and APPROVE - Twin Rivers Unified School District 2016-2017 First Interim Report and Positive Certification
 
School district governing boards are required to certify twice a year regarding their ability to meet financial obligations for the remainder of the year and two subsequent fiscal years. A positive certification indicates that based upon current projections, TRUSD will be able to meet its financial obligations for the current fiscal year or two subsequent fiscal years.

5.  APPROVAL - Personnel Recommendations
 
The Board approved all personnel recommendations including new hires, promotions, resignations and leaves.

6.  ACTION ITEM - RESOLUTIONS No. 618 / No. 622 / No. 623 / No. 624
 
The Board of Trustees reviewed petitions and supporting documentation and renewed the following Charters for five-year terms commencing July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2022.
  • Resolution No. 618 to renew the Sacramento Academic & Vocational Academy (SAVA) Charter School
  • Resolution No. 622 to renew Futures High School Charter School
  • Resolution No. 623 to renew Community Collaborative Charter School
  • Resolution No. 624 to renew Higher Learning Academy Charter School
