Creative Alliance Milwaukee Update

February 3, 2012

Greetings!

SAVE THE DATE:  CALLING ALL CREATIVES

WANT TO TAKE A LEAP INTO OUR CREATIVE POOL?
YOU'LL GET YOUR CHANCE ON FEBRUARY 29TH FROM 4:30 TO 6:30 PM!

Last April when we launched CAM, we told you we'd work to develop a vision and strategic plan.  We did as promised, and now we'd like to share with you what we've got so far, to get your input and feedback.  But you know us -- this won't be your typical Power Point presentation (yawn!).  Instead, Bob Schwartz, head of global design for GE Healthcare, along with his Innovation Team, will facilitate a creative process to inform and engage you, connect you with other creatives, and provide you with a fun opportunity to let us know what you think.  We'll get the feedback we need to keep moving ahead in our goal to link, leverage and grow our creative industries.  You'll meet other creatives, and learn new, creative brainstorming and facilitation techniques.  Refreshments will be served, so everyone wins! DETAILS TO FOLLOW.  STAY TUNED!

Lots of goodies in this week's newsletter, including an upcoming event celebrating some of Milwaukee's young and vibrant creative talent, two new member welcomes, and of course, jobs!

Enjoy!

Could Startups Crowdsource Equity Investments?

The "crowd funding" craze hit the Internet with a splash a few years ago as a way of harnessing social media to raise money for causes or projects that strike an emotional chord with donors. In New York, sites such as Kickstarter and RocketHub provide a platform for the likes of inventors, independent filmmakers and young fashion designers to get their creations off the ground.
