Community Servings Honors
Outstanding Volunteers
On April 9, 2014 Community Servings hosted our 2nd annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception as part of a week-long celebration of National Volunteer Appreciation Week. It was a privilege to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our amazing volunteers who, collectively, donate 65,000 hours of service each year! | |
Thank you to our kitchen and delivery volunteers, our board members and the hundreds of volunteers who help with our fundraising events - we couldn't do it without you!
At the reception, Community Servings distributed our first annual appreciation awards to an individual, and volunteer group.
Ametha Hollins has been volunteering for two years. Her husband is a meals client, and she brings his meals home after volunteering in the kitchen. Ametha does it all - from leading the meal packaging line in the kitchen, assisting with cookie packaging to support the Avon Walk, and even filling in at the front desk on occasion. She has proven to be a valuable member of the volunteer team.
Spirit of State Street, an alumni volunteer program, was honored for their overwhelming commitment to Community Servings' food and nutrition program. Whether we need pies sorted, greeters at LifeSavor or vegetables chopped, Spirit of State Street has been there consistently for over 10 years.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our Volunteer Appreciation Week a success! Check out the photos from our Volunteer Reception on Facebook.
