Double your impact on North Texas Giving Day
Thanks to generous donors Steve and Claudia Sue Meeks, you have the opportunity to double your impact when you give to Mission Central on North Texas Giving Day. On September 22nd, they will match, dollar-for-dollar, all donations to Mission Central, up to $15,000.

North Texas Giving Day is an annual event that encourages charitable giving throughout the region. More than 2,000 non-profits participate, and each donation of at least $25 made via www.northtexasgivingday.org between 6 am and midnight on September 22nd offers chances for non-profits to earn bonus and prize funds.

Please mark your calendar for September 22nd and plan to get up and give! Each day, Mission Central is empowering our neighbors in need to improve their own quality of life. On North Texas Giving day, you have the power to help us create change in our community.
20th Anniversary Celebration to feature Dr. Nathanial Hearne
Football season is finally here and we're excited about the many Friday nights ahead. One Friday night stands out for us, though -- Friday, November 18th.

This is the evening we'll be gathering to celebrate Mission Central's 20th anniversary. The event will be a time to enjoy old friends and reminisce about the good work of volunteers since 1996.

We'll also be hearing from the always-inspirational Dr. Nathanial Hearne. Dr. Hearne is a former assistant principal of L.D. Bell High School, as well as the former assistant football coach at Permian High School (of "Friday Night Lights" fame).

Individual tickets to the event are $50 and can be purchased online. Sponsorship opportunities, as well as opportunities to purchase a table for 8, are also available
Members of FUMC Hurst donate three tons of food to Mission Central
On Sunday, September 11th, the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church held their annual CTC Serve day. Churches across the conference were focused on serving their community in a way that connects to the issue of hunger.

For members of First United Methodist Church of Hurst, this meant bringing in red bags full of groceries to be donated to Mission Central. The bags contained pantry staples that are given regularly to Mission Central's guests, but are often difficult or expensive to obtain. These include shelf-stable milk, canned soups, and canned meats.

Church members responded by providing 383 bags totaling 6,511 pounds of groceries. This donation has filled the shelves at the Village Pantry and will be a blessing to many families.

Special thanks to everyone who purchased food, as well as those who helped sort and transport the items. If your church or organization is interested in hosting a food drive, please contact Pantry Manager Mike Wright for more information.
