February 2017

Dear Fellow Deans,

It was such a joy connecting with many of you earlier this month at the AACSB Deans Conference in New Orleans. I have always found this conclave energizing, as it reaffirms the good work we do to deliver a high quality, relevant business education to each of our students. Please take a moment to read about just a few programs that we pride ourselves on at the Willumstad School. You won't be disappointed.

Spring Lectures to Host Top Minds in Business

Adelphi's location in the New York metropolitan area provides the Willumstad School and its students and faculty a distinct opportunity to regularly engage with some of the world's most prominent business practitioners. Our lecture series during the spring semester—centered around themes of ethics, sustainability, innovation and the business of science—features a few of these high profile speakers from companies such as Diageo, Colgate-Palmolive, IBM and Pfizer, among others.

Internship Program Flourishes

Participation in the Willumstad School's Internship and Mentorship Program continues to be highly sought after by students and employers alike. Three of four students graduating with a bachelor’s degree now complete an internship at least one of more than 200 national, regional and local participating organizations. Not only do businesses gain a motivated and intelligent student who is eager to learn, the students enter the workforce following graduation with a better understanding of how the business world operates. Students also benefit from assigned external mentors who are successful executives or entrepreneurs. Contact Neil Halloran, coordinator of internships, at halloran@adelphi.edu to learn more.
