January 2017

Dear Fellow Deans,

With the winter holidays now behind us, we are busy getting ready to start our spring semester classes this coming Monday. I am also looking forward to attending the upcoming AACSB Deans Conference in New Orleans and catching up with many of you. Safe travels!

School Attracts International Students

Our business programs—especially the M.B.A.—are a big draw for international students. More than a quarter of the Willumstad School's students are from foreign countries, compared to only just over 5.5 percent for the rest of the University. Adelphi’s students hail from 49 different countries.

New Faculty Join School

The School continues to hire new full-time faculty—both tenure track and clinical—to deliver its curriculum to a growing student population. We have been able to leverage our location in the New York metropolitan region to attract seasoned professionals to join our faculty roster. Our new hires this year have been in accounting, business communications, decision sciences and marketing.

Faculty in the Media

Our faculty members are highly sought after by local, regional and national media to comment on current issues, especially on matters of finance and consumer behavior. This is a tribute to the expertise of our faculty, and it raises their and the School’s profile in the broader community. Recent media placements have included Fast Company, U.S. News & World Report, Newsday and NPR.
