July 2017

Dear Fellow Deans,

The summer days are going fast here at Adelphi, where we are getting ready to welcome our new batch of students next month. Many of our faculty members are traveling, sharing their scholarship with colleagues at professional conferences, and we have been able to support every funding request. Some renovations in our business building are opening up new office spaces to accommodate our new faculty hires. All in all, it's an exciting summer, with a few stories here to share with you.

Global M.B.A. Program Gets Green Light

Our newest M.B.A. program—with a global focus, 45 credits that can be completed in 18 months, taught face-to-face in lower Manhattan in New York City—has been approved by the New York State Higher Education Department. Classes have been scheduled for this fall. This program is designed to leverage our location in the most dynamic economic and cultural region of the world by accessing the boundless opportunities and resources that the city offers. To learn more about this program, contact Michael Minutoli, director of graduate programs, at mminutoli@adelphi.edu or visit the M.B.A. in Global Business Management webpage.

New Faculty Join Ranks

We have been hiring new faculty on a consistent basis every year—in many cases to replace separating faculty and in other cases to support new initiatives. This fall, we will have three new faculty members joining us: two in the area of entrepreneurship and one in finance.

Student-Athlete Ends on High Note

Jennifer Graham, who graduated this May with a B.B.A. in Management, was a member of the Adelphi women’s lacrosse team that won the national championship trophy this year, the team's third in the past four seasons. She gives true meaning to the term "student-athlete." Adelphi University competes in NCAA Division II sports.
