Healthy Living Matters Awarded $1M from Houston Endowment! HLMAwarded

Healthy Living Matters (HLM) is excited to announce that on Tuesday, September 15th,  the Houston Endowment made the decision to fund HLM for an additional three years in the amount of $1,050,000! These funds will help us meet the following goals:
  • Strengthened Alliances: One of the greatest strengths of HLM is the membership base and its extended network of partners. Structural changes supported by additional capacity and alignment with other local initiatives will better organize and sustain the work by sector and policy focus.
  • Mobilization and Advocacy: HLM will engage in community and sector-specific activities to expand its base of support for HLM CAP policy priorities, including those that intersect with the healthcare, built environment, and education sectors
  • Enhanced Communications: A comprehensive health communication plan will be implemented to advance HLM CAP policy priorities and multiply momentum in Harris County around childhood obesity reduction.
More information will be provided at our upcoming HLM Collaborative Meeting. The meeting will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM at Harris County Department of Education, 6300 Irvington Blvd., Houston, TX 77022. We hope to see you there!
