As the leading resource for children and families living with epilepsy in the state, The Matty Fund is proud to provide both educational workshops and fun events for our families. Our educational workshops give parents and caregivers the opportunity to learn more about their child's condition, treatment options and meet others who are facing similar challenges. Our family events give children a safe environment to have fun and feel accepted without the fear being stigmatized just because they have been diagnosed with epilepsy. October is a busy month at The Matty Fund!
On October 8th, Dr. John N. Gaitanis, Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Tufts Medical Center will present a workshop entitled "Alternative Treatments for Epilepsy" This workshop is designed specifically for those seeking a better understanding of Cannabinoid (CBD) treatment options for epilepsy. October also brings our annual Pumpkin Festivals for Matty Fund Families. In South Kingstown on October 17th and in Cumberland on October 25th, Children will decorate pumpkins, find their way out of a corn maze, and participate in other fun farm activities. (Click links below for more information)
