Thanks to your caring and support during 2016, the Sanctuary rescued more than 580 cats and kittens in need. That number included adults and younger kittens brought into the Wild Blue program from trap-neuter-return (TNR), transfers from other rescues and shelters, strays & relinquishments.  Each Wild Blue cat is spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption.

We found loving homes for a total of nearly 500 of the rescued kitties during the past year. Though we lost a few precious lives to untreatable health issues, the others have either been placed into foster care or are living happily at the Sanctuary. None of this live saving work would be possible without YOU!
We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our individual donors, grantors and fundraising partners who supported us in 2016! We would not be able to exist without the dollars given and partnerships formed with these organizations.

Thank you to the ASPCA Adoption Ambassador Program Grant and the Subaru "Share the Love" Event Grant; Best Friends Animal Society - Save them All and  free adoption promotion; Colorado Gives Day; Colorado Pet Overpopulation License Plate Fund Grant & Tax Check Off Fund;  GreaterGood.Org ; Love Animals and the Saving Pets Challenge.

We look forward to another year chocked full of rescues, events, adoption fairs and happy endings.

Frontier Ferals
Alongside the 580 cats and kittens brought in to the Sanctuary during 2016, Wild Blue's TNR program "Frontier Ferals" also helped to sterilize and vaccinate over 250 cats who were returned to field. If you are in the Colorado Springs area and are interested in helping to trap or transport kitties to/from surgery or deliver food to the feral colonies, please leave a message for Allison DuVal at (719) 900-CATS. If you would like to sponsor our "Frontier Ferals" program or make a donation to help offset the cost of spay/neuter surgeries -- please go here for more information ---
Wild Blue's February Volunteers
Thanks Kathy and Judy!

Please join us in congratulating foster team members - Kathy Kennington (left in the  photo with the purple shirt) and Judy Hawley - as our February volunteers of the month! K
athy retired from a local law office 3 years ago, and her friend Judy retired from nursing at a local assisted living facility a year ago, and both were looking for something to do with their free time. During a conversation at a veterinarian appointment it was suggested that they might consider volunteering for Wild Blue because of their love for cats. In April of 2016, they applied to Wild Blue to be foster Moms and have been fostering young kittens for them ever since.  It gives them great joy to see the kittens go to their forever homes. Thank you both very much for your dedication to the Wild Blue kitties!

Madison Has Found Her Furrever Home!

Madison was one of our most beloved Wild Blue kitties for nearly 5 years! She was surrendered to Wild Blue in May, 2011 and finally found her purrfect people last September at the ripe old age of nearly 15 1/2 years! She was a very special kitty who 'guarded' the door to the Sanctuary from her perch atop a cat tree and would swipe at anyone who walked by.

Madison, we will miss you - but we are so happy that you found your furrever home.

Colorado Gives Day -- Thank You!

THANKS to the more than 60 donors who participated in the 2016 Colorado Gives Day campaign, Wild Blue received more than $10,000 to go toward caring for the more than 80 cats and kittens currently in our care.
For the seventh year in a row, Coloradans showed their passion for Colorado nonprofits on December 6, the biggest day of giving in the state! More than 145,000 donations amounted to $33.8 million to power Colorado's nonprofit sector. Including the $1 Million Incentive Fund and $100,000 in FirstBank cash prizes, $34.4 million was distributed to more than 2,000 nonprofits statewide.
