Over the first six days of advance voting, 8,495 citizens cast a ballot in the 2017 Edmonton Election. This total includes 1,254 votes cast yesterday on the statutory holiday.
“Edmonton Elections decided to try out holiday Monday voting this year as a new convenience for voters and the feedback has been positive,” said Iain MacLean, Director of Elections.
“There are a number of voting opportunities still available, including four more days of advance voting. We encourage every eligible citizen to exercise their right to vote,” adds MacLean.
Voter turnout is down in comparison to Edmonton’s 2013 election, when 8,438 votes were placed during the first five days of advance voting.

to find your designated voting station, hours of operation and candidate list. All ward-based advance vote locations are equipped with a ballot-marking tool to assist citizens who require braille, sip-n-puff or audio cues while voting.
Ready to vote? Remember your ID. Citizens must present one piece of
authorized identification
that confirms both name and current residential address in order to cast a ballot.
