City’s Salute to Excellence honours Edmontonians’ achievements
November 27, 2017

Mayor Don Iveson and the City’s Salute to Excellence Awards recognized Edmontonians’ achievements in arts and culture, sports and community services at this year’s Performance & Citation awards evening.

“Every year Edmonton comes together to recognize the skills and talents of our citizens and this year is no different,” said Mayor Don Iveson. “This year’s recipients show that together we can build community, solve problems, fill needs and share talents to make our city a better place.”

Citation Awards recognize individuals who have given more than five years of distinguished service as artists, volunteers, or inspirational leaders in arts and culture, community service, or sports.

Performance Awards honour those who have gained outstanding recognition at the national or international level in sports or arts and culture. A total of 215 Performance Awards were presented to athletes from various sports and backgrounds for their accomplishments in the past year.

Salute to Excellence is celebrating 67 years of honouring outstanding individuals and groups whose work in arts, culture, community service and sports has improved the quality of life in Edmonton. This year’s list of Performance & Citation award recipients is now available on the City’s website.
