The offices of Charles County Government, the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville, the Charles County Sanitary Landfill, Recycling Center, and Composting Facility off Billingsley Road in Waldorf, and the Pisgah Recycling Center on Route 425 in Pisgah will be closed on Monday, September 3, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Curbside recycling will be pushed one day ahead for the first part of the week.  Monday pickups will take place on Tuesday and Tuesday pickups on Wednesday.  There are no changes to Thursday and Friday routes.

There will be no VanGO service operated on Labor Day, Monday, September 3.

The Crain Memorial Welcome Center will be open for normal business hours on Monday, September 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Welcome Center is located at 12480 Crain Highway in Newburg.

The following schedule changes and closures will also be in effect: 

• Community Centers, Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center, and Port Tobacco Recreation Center will be closed. 
• All park facilities will be open for normal operating hours.
