City of Fredericksburg expands and renovates parking for Central Rappahannock Regional Library's Fredericksburg Branch
Fredericksburg, Virginia, May 11, 2018 - The City of Fredericksburg is creating a brand-new parking lot behind Central Rappahannock Regional Library's downtown Fredericksburg Branch. An expanded entrance and exit will be created from Sophia Street, the current Lewis Street entrance will be permanently closed, and the number of available parking spaces will double from 29 to 58.

Due to construction, a large portion of the parking lot will be closed Monday-Wednesday, May 14-16. Parking will still be available on Caroline and Lewis Street.

Most of the landscaping already in place will be maintained, but, by the time the lot is complete, there will be approximately 26 additional trees and 40 additional shrubs around the lot. There will be no impact on the sidewalk or the memorial garden already in place immediately behind the building. Several parking lot lights will be removed before being relocated: Security Officers are available to escort customers to their vehicles during library hours.

The construction project is expected to be completed in early summer.
